Send your students to New Zealand with confidence

World-class universities in the global top 3%, up to three years of post-study work rights, and graduate employment outcomes that lead the world. Everything your agency needs to make New Zealand a top destination for students from India, Vietnam, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Philippines.

Why recruitment partners are adding New Zealand

New Zealand offers something most study destinations cannot match: a three-year post-study work visa for degree holders, a university system that tops the world for graduate employment outcomes, and all eight universities inside the global top 3%. For students from your markets, this is a credible pathway that is still under-promoted by many agencies.

University of Auckland, New Zealand’s highest ranked university (QS 2027)

Why New Zealand

1. Employment outcomes and career pathways
New Zealand topped the global Employment Outcomes metric in the QS World University Rankings 2027. University of Auckland reports graduate employment as a particular strength. AUT ranks first in New Zealand for international outlook (THE 2026) and is built around employer-connected learning.
2. Post-study work rights

Level 7+ graduates can access the Post-Study Work Visa for up to three years with any employer, in any role. From late 2026, a Short-Term Graduate Work Visa grants up to six months for shorter or lower-level qualifications. PSWV eligibility also extends to Level 7 graduate diplomas paired with a bachelor’s degree. Work up to 25 hours per week during study; full-time in breaks.

3. Cost, safety, and lifestyle

Tuition is typically lower than the UK, US, Canada, or Australia at many institutions (postgraduate often NZD 35,000-55,000 per year). New Zealand ranks 3rd in the 2025 Global Peace Index. English-medium instruction and a multicultural environment support settlement from priority source markets.

Callout: Pathway Student Visa (from 20 July 2026)

More flexible pathways on a single visa

The Pathway Student Visa allows up to three consecutive courses on one visa. From 20 July 2026: high school graduates can change major without a new visa (conditions specify level and provider only); PSV covers NZQCF Levels 1-4 including English, foundation, and vocational certificates; first-time holders can take up to 30 weeks of pre-sessional English (up from 20). Health, character, and genuine student criteria still apply.

New Zealand Works for Students from Your Markets

Our source market teams have a deep understanding of the student profiles, motivations, and visa pathways most relevant to your agency. Here is why New Zealand is a strong recommendation for students from your markets.

India

Strong tech and pharma employer access in Dublin, post-study work rights, and English-taught programs make New Zealand a credible alternative for students who cannot get US or Canadian visas.

Vietnam

European degree recognition, English instruction, and smaller campus environments suit Vietnamese students who want quality study abroad without the scale of the UK or Australia.

Nepal

For Nepali students, New Zealand offers an accessible English-speaking European destination with genuine employment pathways in tech, business, and financial services.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh students are increasingly looking to Europe. New Zealand comparatively clear visa process, English-medium universities, and strong graduate employment outcomes are a compelling combination.

Sri Lanka

New Zealand’s affordability relative to the UK, combined with English instruction and a Stamp 1G post-study work visa, makes it a strong pitch for Sri Lankan students weighing European destinations.

Philippines

Filipino students are English-proficient and well-suited to Irish programs. New Zealand’s tech sector is particularly relevant for students targeting IT, data, or business careers in global companies.
